Every Year, This Spring JTT season becomes the epitome of my tennis success. With the winning teams advancing to states, I take it very seriously to put your kids in a position to win a state championship. I gauge the success of my program, on how we compete.
Last season I had 5 state qualifying teams (4 attended)
10u Beginner- Raleigh FIRST PLACE
10u Beginner- Durham SECOND PLACE
10u Advance- Raleigh SECOND PLACE
14u Beginner- Ral-2nd in flight
A lot of people view last season as a success for me. Aside from getting my first state championship, I view it as a huge failure. Their were a lot of other teams I had that should have made it to the state championships. Unfortunately, many came up short in second place.
My ultimate dream is to sweep the Raleigh league, and win a state championship at every level in one year. Now, this is not going to happen any time soon, but that's what I'm building towards. I have a lifelong commitment to tennis, and ultimately am aiming towards ending my career in the NC Tennis Hall of fame.
This season, JTT will have my full attention. I will have to reroute as many private lessons as I can, or potentially pause some private lessons until after JTT season. My Main goal is team development.. I am really looking for players serious about competing to win a state championship. A lot of my orange ball state champions from last year might feel the job is finished, and I must remind them that this is just the start. We will not become a dynasty as a one and done organization. We must continue to win year in and year out.
I will list below my practice schedule and match times which will be fairly consistent among dates. I can take 6 players at parrish womble practice- and I can take 8 players for kitts creek and rock quarry park practices.
All listed practices will be held with yellow ball, which is important for the development of my green ball players, who have future goals to compete in yellow. Orange only players will have a separate practice time to be determined. This only applies to a few of my players. Most of my orange ball players are capable already of playing with yellow and just lack the consistency some of my green ball players have.
